Zoe’s Story
As a community college instructor, I was comfortable in front of a classroom.
But when I became a Recruitment and Talent Specialist, my audience grew—from 20 students to 200 community members.
I wanted to represent my company's mission—changing lives through the power of work—with impact.
But I needed more than enthusiasm. I needed structure, mentors, and practice.
Toastmasters had been on my bucket list for years—my grandmother and aunt were members.
After being asked to present to 200 people, I finally joined Club 81 last October.
Since then, I’ve:
Given six speeches
Completed Level 1 of Presentation Mastery course
Taken on roles from speaker to humorist
Stepped into leadership as Club President
The results? My confidence soared. I won an Innovation Award at work and became an Ambassador for the Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Now, I’ll be honest—speaking confidently to large groups isn’t easy.
It takes time, practice, and courage.
But I’m not doing it alone. Every Wednesday night, I’m surrounded by people who challenge me, cheer for me, and celebrate my progress.
Slowly but surely… I am finding my voice.
And I want you to find yours.
Join us at Toastmasters Club 81—Wednesdays, 7 to 8 PM, in Walla Walla.
Imagine this: you stand to speak, your hands tremble just a little, but instead of judgment, you see a room full of encouraging faces.
You finish your speech—and the room bursts into applause.
That’s the Toastmasters experience.
For over 100 years, Toastmasters has helped people become confident communicators and leaders.
Don’t wait for the “perfect moment.” The perfect moment is now.
Find your voice this Wednesday night—and see just how far it can take you.
