El Programa de asistencia para microempresas (MBA) de Walla Walla comenzó en 2018 con el objetivo de apoyar a las mujeres emprendedoras de habla hispana y de bajos ingresos. Desde su inicio hace 5 años, el programa ha ofrecido a 73 empresarios casi $300 000 en subvenciones y más de 2000 horas de educación para apoyar el crecimiento de las pequeñas empresas locales.

Walla Walla’s Micro-Business Assistance Program started in 2018 with the goal of supporting Spanish-speakers, women, and low-income entrepreneurs in eastern Washington. Since its inception 5 years ago, the program has offered 73 entrepreneurs nearly $300,000 in grants and over 2,000 education hours to support the growth of local small businesses.

The Bilingual Small Business Outreach Coordinator will provide support in English and Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs to support them in starting or growing a small business. MCNW Walla Walla is recruiting for a full-time AmeriCorps VISTA position! AmeriCorps VISTA members serve their communities as volunteers for a full year, leveraging their passion for community service and economic development to build the capacity of the organization they work with. Volunteers receive a living stipend and supplemental benefits from MCNW.

Key aspects of VISTA service with MCNW Walla Walla include:

+ Supporting the Micro-Business Assistance Program, which assists underserved entrepreneurs by empowering them through financial and educational resources
+ Leading outreach efforts to local small businesses and potential entrepreneurs, mostly members of the Spanish-speaking community
+ Building a network of of partners and volunteers to sustainably support the Walla Walla Office

Business Owner of the Month (March and April!) // Empresarios del Mes (¡marzo y abril!) - Eduarda Beatriz Pacheco Lopez & Everardo Pacheco Lopez

Beatriz and Everardo are a dynamic brother/sister duo who both graduated from the MBA Program in November of 2020! Beatriz specializes in residential cleaning, and Everardo DJs for family and community events. These inspiring siblings both chose to start their own businesses here in Walla Walla, and to enroll in MCNW's MBA Program just as COVID-19 was beginning to impact their businesses in March of 2020. Upon completing the program, they are both planning to continue taking their businesses onward and upward.
