Neonatal Puppies Found – June 23, 2026

At approximately 5:00 PM on June 23, 2026, two neonatal puppies were found at Grady Crawford Construction.

The puppies who were hot to the touch with dry mucous membranes were moved inside of the finders air-conditioned car. The (FINDER) also applied cool water to their bodies and mouths

The puppies consist of one male and one female. Their umbilical cords were still attached when they were discovered, indicating they were only hours old. Both puppies were found without their mother and were suffering from heat exposure.

They were immediately transported to Crossroads Animal Hospital for emergency triage and evaluation. Veterinary staff confirmed:
• No cleft palates detected
• Strong mobility and good neonatal reflexes
• No obvious congenital abnormalities noted at intake

Since rescue, both puppies have been receiving regular feedings of canned neonatal formula and are being closely monitored. At this time, they are eating well and continuing to show appropriate strength and activity for their age.

As with all orphaned newborns, the next several weeks will be critical. We are hopeful these tiny babies will continue to thrive with proper care, nutrition, and around-the-clock monitoring.

Thank you to everyone involved in getting these babies to safety. Especially the (FINDER) who provided immediate loving and compassionate care and our amazing Bottle Feeder Nicole McNeice who never hesitates to take the most helpless.

Over the last 10 days, numerous animals have entered our program, and we have barely had time to stop and provide updates. This post serves as both an update on our newest arrivals and a plea for financial and supply assistance.
With two nearby shelters currently closed, we have seen a significant increase in owner surrenders and requests for help. Every day, we are faced with difficult decisions as more animals need assistance than ever before.

Despite being stretched thin, we remain committed to helping as many animals as possible. However, we cannot do it alone. Rescue Rehome Repeat depends heavily on the support of our community to continue providing medical care, food, supplies, and safe foster homes for animals in need.

Every donation, share, and word of encouragement makes a difference. Together, we can continue being a lifeline for animals who have nowhere else to turn. (donation link below.)

A New Partnership for the Animals

As many of you are aware, Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana is a canine pediatric and foster-based rescue organization. Recently, due to unforeseen circumstances, we found ourselves caring for several kittens and a mother cat in addition to our dogs.

The response from our community has been overwhelmingly positive. Through your generosity, we received supplies, donations, and support to assist these abandoned and neglected felines when they were in dire need. We are deeply grateful to each and every individual who contributed to our efforts.

During this unexpected journey, we were fortunate to encounter Madi, the founder of Waffles Way Home, an emerging feline rescue dedicated to providing cats and kittens with a second chance.

After extensive discussion and prayerful consideration, Rescue Rehome Repeat has decided to transfer all of our feline residents, along with the cat-specific donations and supplies that were provided for their care, to Waffles Way Home. We believe this is the most suitable decision for the cats, enabling them to receive specialized care from a rescue organization whose primary focus is feline welfare.

We are profoundly thankful to have met Madi and eagerly anticipate establishing a strong partnership with Waffles Way Home. Our aspiration is that by collaborating, we can enhance our ability to serve the animals in our community and provide mutual support whenever the need arises.

We extend our sincere gratitude for entrusting us with your support and assistance in ensuring the well-being of these animals. Together, we can achieve greater accomplishments than any individual rescue organization could accomplish alone.

Sincerely,
Terri Dunlap

🔴PUPPIES HAVE ALL BEEN PLACED WITH A NURSING MOTHER AND ARE DOING WELL🔴

MUST LIVE WITHIN 45 MINUTES BR/LP
For at least two years, residents near Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs have repeatedly reached out to their local animal shelter for help trapping an aggressive feral mom dog. According to residents, they have been told multiple times that someone would come out with a trap or attempt to catch her, but that assistance has never arrived.
This feral mom has now given birth to a litter of puppies inside an old couch. The puppies are struggling in the extreme heat, and the mother leaves for hours at a time....sometimes an entire day passes before she returns.
Once again, residents have turned to Rescue Rehome Repeat for help.
The problem is that we are completely over capacity and currently have NO available bottle feeders. There are eight puppies lying out there right now, and without intervention, they may not survive. We urgently need FOUR experienced bottle feeders willing to take TWO puppies each.

🐾 Mixed-breed puppies🐾 Mom appears to be a small-to-medium-sized dog🐾 Rescue Rehome Repeat will provide all supplies and medical care🐾 You provide the love, time, and commitment until they are old enough for adoption

⚠️ IMPORTANT: We will NOT be picking up these puppies until bottle feeders have been secured. We do not have anywhere to place them and do not have anyone available to hold them temporarily.

If you can help, please complete a volunteer application at rescuerehomerepeat.com.

Once four qualified bottle feeders have been confirmed, we will immediately go to the area and attempt to secure the puppies and once again, we will ask the parish to do what should have been done long ago....trap the mother dog.
Please share. These puppies are counting on us.
