2025-2026 in Review
This was a historic school year for the Walker Marine Corps JROTC!
Here's a list of what these awesome cadets achieved:
🎖️Naval Honor School Recognition for SY 2024-2025 (First time ever for WHS MCJROTC)
The cadets competed in over 20 competitions of Raider, Drill, or Air-Rifle. Here are the highlights:
RAIDER:
🏆 2025 All-Service Raider National Champions Mixed-Masters Division (Molena, GA)...This was the first for any Marine Corps JROTC program in the 20 years of this National competition!
🏆 2026 Army National Raider Challenge National Champions All-Service Mixed Division (Fort Knox, KY)
🏆 2026 Marine Corps JROTC Raider National Champions Mixed Division (Molena, GA)
🏆 2025 All-Service Raider Nationals overall 3rd place Mixed-Challenge Division (Molena, GA)
🏆 2026 Army National Raider Challenge overall 4th place Male Division (FOrt Knox, KY)
🏆 2025 Louisiana All-Service Raider State Champions and Runners Up (Bogalusa, LA)
DRILL:
🏆 2026 All-Service Armed Drill National Runners Up (Div 3) (Daytona Beach, FL)
🏆 2026 All-Service Unarmed Drill National overall 3rd place (Div 2) (Daytona Beach, FL)
🏆 2026 Marine Corps Unarmed Drill National overall 3rd place (Norman Park, GA)
🏆 2026 All-Service Armed Drill State Runners Up (Alexandria, LA)
🏆 2026 All-Service Unarmed Drill State Runners Up (Alexandria, LA)
AIR-RIFLE:
🏆 2025 Marine Corps Air-Rifle State Runners Up (Zachary, LA)
👉 The Color Guard represented the program and Walker High School at over 30 special & social events all over the greater Baton Rouge metropolitan area.
👉 The cadets participated in four parades to include the WHS Homecoming Parade, Walker Veterans Day Parade, Livingston Parish Fair Parade, and the Denham Springs Mardi Gras Parade. They also participated in the annual Track-or-Treat & Scheduling Fair.
👉 There were two field trips. One to Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans (Belle Chasse) and one to the Lion King Retreat.
👉 The cadets helped plan and participated in the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball. They also planned and executed internal Block Competition.
👉 The cadets also accumulated over 1,500 hours of community service! These were in support of numerous school and community functions.
👉 Cadets and instructors underwent the biennial Marine Corps Compliance Inspection where the program was found to be in compliance in every way with MCJROTC standards and protocols.
👏 Lastly, both LtCol & 1stSgt were recognized as Teachers of the Month (March & April respectively).
