💚 A Heartfelt Thank You! 💚

The Walhalla Park Board would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Wentworth Ag for their incredibly generous donation of the beautiful GSI grain bin gazebo at Riverside Park.

We’d also like to recognize Penner Brothers Construction for their craftsmanship in building the ledge surrounding the gazebo. Their hard work helped bring this project to life and created a beautiful finishing touch.

This new addition has already become a standout feature in the park and provides another welcoming space for families, friends, and visitors to gather and enjoy everything Riverside Park has to offer.

Projects like this are only possible because of the generosity of businesses and individuals who believe in investing in our community. Thank you, Wentworth Ag and Penner Brothers Construction, for helping make Riverside Park an even better place for everyone.

We truly appreciate your support! ❤️🌳

🚨 Campers… consider this your friendly early warning 🚨

Yes, we know Canada Day and the Fourth of July are still a little ways out…BUT we’re sharing this now for a reason:

We want you to come prepared 👏

This year, we’re hosting a Canada Day & Fourth of July Decorating Contest at Riverside Campground and we want to see those campers LIGHT. IT. UP. 🇨🇦🇺🇸✨

Break out your red, white, and blue lights, flags, festive décor, and creative ideas because we’re challenging campers to transform their sites into patriotic masterpieces.

🏆 Prizes will be awarded to our Top 3 campers
🌙 Judging will take place the evening of July 3
🎉 Winners will be announced on July 4

Whether you keep it simple or go bright enough to be seen from space… we’re here for it.

And don’t worry—we’ll remind you again as we get closer. We just didn’t want anyone showing up saying, “Wait… I didn’t pack my lights.” 😉

Who already has ideas brewing? Drop a 🇨🇦, 🇺🇸, or ✨ in the comments if you’re planning to participate!

UPDATE: Park Cleanup Day CANCELED!

Due to the incredible hard work of Bill Zeller, tomorrow’s scheduled park cleanup has been canceled. Bill spent a significant amount of time down at Riverside Park already tackling cleanup efforts and got a tremendous amount accomplished on his own.

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Bill for his dedication, hard work, and pride in helping keep our park looking its best. We appreciate everything he’s done.

If you see Bill around town, be sure to give him a well-deserved thank you! 👏

Riverside Park is looking much better thanks to his efforts—and we’re incredibly grateful for people who step up without being asked.

(And Bill… we still think you’ve earned that pizza. 🍕)

🌿 CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! 🌿

It’s time to get our parks cleaned up and ready for the season—and we need your help!

🗓 Cleanup Day: May 2
⏰ Start Time: 9:00 AM
📍 Location: Riverside Park
🌧 Backup Date: May 9 (if weather doesn’t cooperate)

We’ll be taking care of:
✔️ Trash pickup
✔️ Downed branches & debris
✔️ General cleanup around the park

👉 If you’ve got tools, bring ‘em!
Chainsaws, rakes, gloves, trailers—whatever you’ve got to help get the job done.

🍕 BONUS: Stick around because we’ll have a pizza party around noon for volunteers!

Whether you can stay an hour or until we’re done, it all makes a difference.

Because let’s be honest… many hands make light work 😉

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ Drop a comment or send a message if you’re planning to help—we’d love to see a great turnout!

Important Update Regarding the Upcoming Baseball Season.

We regret to inform participants in our summer 10U baseball program that due to lower-than-anticipated participation numbers, we will not be proceeding with this division as planned. Checks submitted with registration forms will be returned unprocessed to the respective families.

On a positive note, we are confirming our summer 8U baseball program for children aged 7-8 years, with an option for 6-year-olds to participate if deemed suitable by their guardians. This is a coach pitch league with games one night per week. TBD.
Families of 7 and 8-year-old children previously registered for 10U who wish to transition to the 8U program can retain their registration and payments for application to the upcoming season.

Interested participants aged 6-8 years can reach out to Kendra Trupe (Walhalla) or Jenny White (Pembina) for further information.

Practices will be held in Neche at times to be determined, led this year by Marcus Hagness. Thank you, Coach Hagness!

We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our parents and families and look forward to a fun and successful summer with our 8U program. Our hope is to foster a deep love for baseball in our young athletes, working on the fundamentals, and growing our program for future ⚾️ seasons!
