Pembina Hills Show and Shine

Pembina Hills Show and Shine Calling all car, truck, rat rod and motorcycle enthusiasts for our car show held in Walhalla, ND! It is held the first full weekend in July each year.

The Pembina Hills Show & Shine was started by Aaron & Joy Zaharia in 2014 as a way to give back to Aaron's hometown, Walhalla, ND. He combined his love of vehicles and community by putting together a car show. We just wrapped up our third annual car show which seems to keep growing and growing. We have had entries from across North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota & Montana...as well as from two di

fferent provinces in Canada so far. We're excited to see where this leads. As of right now, there are seven classes participants can enter: Car 1975 & Older; Car 1976 & Newer; Truck 1975 & Older; Truck 1976 & Newer; Motorcyle; Tractor; and Semi. Trophies are are awarded for Judges Choice for each class in addition to People's Choice and Kid's Choice.

On top of this, there are other events that go on throughout the weekend. We've held Old Fashioned Soapbox Derbies; Kids Peddle Pulls; Tug-of-War and Beach Volleyball Tournaments; Demolition Derbies; Farm Toy Shows; Shine & Drive; 5k Run; 21k Bike Ride; various street vendors; street dances and so much more. 🎉🔍 WE HAVE OUR FIRST MEDALLION HUNT WINNER! 🔍🎉

Well, that didn’t take long! 😲

We honestly expected the Kids Medallion Hunt to last a little longer than Clue #2, but apparently Bianca Chaput was up for the challenge!

Congratulations to Bianca, who found our first kids medallion this afternoon. 🏆

Considering today’s clue was still pretty broad, we’d say Bianca must have had a combination of determination, detective skills, and some seriously sharp eyes! 👀🔎 Our clues certainly weren’t giving away the hiding spot yet, so we’d call that a little bit of luck mixed with some excellent finding eyes!

A big thank you to everyone who has been following along and participating.

📢 Even though the Kids Medallion Hunt has been solved, we’ll still post the remaining clues for the rest of the week so everyone can see how the hunt would have unfolded.

One of the things we love most about the Pembina Hills Show & Shine is that it is FREE for everyone to attend. We want families and friends to come out, enjoy the day, and make memories together.

We’ve had several people ask if there’s a way they can help support the event. The answer is absolutely! While there is never an obligation, donations of any size help offset the costs of putting on this community event and are greatly appreciated.

One of everyone’s favorite traditions is returning, and the search begins tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM!

For the next two weeks, we’ll be hiding TWO medallions each week:
🧒 Kids Hunt
🧑 Adult Hunt

Beginning tomorrow, a new clue will be posted every morning at 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with each day’s clue bringing you one step closer to the hidden medallions. The clues will get progressively more specific—but you’ll still have to put your detective skills to the test! 🕵️‍♀️🕵️

🏅 The first person to find each medallion wins! And the best part? You get to keep the medallion! Winners will also receive their prize during the Pembina Hills Show & Shine.

One of the things that makes our events so special is the opportunity to experience some incredible places throughout our area. Many of these locations are available to us only because generous landowners have given our group permission to access their property for our organized event.

Please remember: Permission isn’t transferable. Our invitation to use a property during an organized event isn’t the same as public access.

Some of the trails we travel are open to the public and can be enjoyed by everyone. Others are on private property or require the landowner’s permission to access. Just because you’ve seen photos or videos from one of our events doesn’t mean that location is open for others to visit.

If you’re ever unsure whether a trail or location is public or private, please ask. We’d be happy to help clarify. We’d much rather answer a question than risk damaging the relationships that allow these unique experiences to happen.

These opportunities exist because of the trust and generosity of local landowners. By respecting their wishes, we’re helping ensure that future events can continue to showcase the beauty of our region for everyone to enjoy.
