Meg will be remembered as a beloved advocate, an advocate for women and children whose lives were disrupted by physical and emotional abuse. She worked tirelessly to create safe places for them to heal and rebuild.
Meg never wavered in her efforts, and her impact will be felt for generations through the thousands of lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but always remembered as a leader in our community and a hero to many.
- Zach Blend, CEO
For 31 years, Meg gave her heart and her voice to Cherokee Family Violence Center. She believed fiercely in the people we serve and never stopped believing that our community could do better. Our hearts are broken as we share the passing of Meg Rogers, our Executive Director and a tireless advocate for survivors of domestic violence.
Meg believed in this work with every part of herself. She challenged us, encouraged us, made us laugh, made us think, and reminded us why we do what we do.
We will miss her deeply. But we will carry her with us. Her voice will remain in this work. Her courage will remain in this organization. And her belief in survivors will remain at the heart of Cherokee Family Violence Center.
We grieve the loss of an extraordinary leader, colleague, mentor, friend, and champion. And we give thanks for the extraordinary gift of having had Meg Rogers in our lives. Her work continues. Her legacy remains.
