Bourbon is a type of whiskey. To be a bourbon, it needs to be distilled from at least 51% corn and must age in new, charred barrels made from American white oak, which gives bourbon its color. It is often enjoyed on its own, or part of popular cocktails such as an Old Fashioned (a Wisconsin Favorite!), Mint Julep and the Manhattan.

The Coquerel estate “Walnut Wash” vineyard sits in the afternoon shadows of the Mayacamas Mountains at the north end of Napa Valley in the Calistoga AVA. The location is warm, protected and features a mix of deep clay and stony soils.
