Welcome to TIDBIT TUESDAY where we highlight small speaking tips that can make a big difference!

Filler words are notorius to take away from a message and distract the audience. Total elimination is difficult so use them with intention. What to do in the meantime? ...PAUSE (& breathe)... It gives both speaker and audience time to digest the real meaning of what is being said and the speaker now not only appears but really IS more confident!!!

WALDORF TOASTMASTERS is back live on Facebook! Join us daily to check out the motivational, inspirational or humorous bit of information...or better yet, visit us in person. We meet the 2nd/4th Wednesdays of the month.

Speaking in front of an audience, regardless the size, can be intimidating. The beauty of Toastmasters is that each time you move to the front of the room, you are met with an encouraging and supporting audience. Every time you speak, you grow. You develop a valuable skill of knowing how to captivate your audience in just the right amount of time and then, sit down, to let others share in that wealth!
Here's to finding YOUR courage to speak—and the wisdom to listen.

Today's Throwback Thursday Photo Of The Week are these two red London double decker buses and a black London taxicab. The red London double decker buses in the photos on the left are a 1939 AEC Regent III RT and a 1982 Leyland Titan. The black London taxicab on the right is a 1958-1997 Austin FX4. Do you remember riding on these modes of transportation during your visit in London ?

Tonight's hybrid meeting was very remarkable. Our theme of tonight's hybrid meeting was on Wedding Bells.

Mary Pearson (DTM, MS3) served as our Toastmaster Of The Evening and had the pleasure of explaining the meeting theme of Wedding Bells. She even shared a family wedding photo from her mobile device to each of the members and guests.

Barbara Linsmeier (MS3, EC3) provided an Educational Tidbit about the Toastmasters Promise and how important it is to keep it while performing our roles at every meeting.

In honor of Election Day this evening, Frederick Allen (EC4) delivered his reflection speech about his experience serving as the Vice President Of Public Relations during the past three years. His aim was to inspire the next member of our club to take on that officer role and follow his examples to continue getting the word out about our club and Toastmasters International.

Kevin King (TM) served as our Table Topics Master and provided some questions pertaining to the theme of Wedding Bells. He provided questions about memorable wedding experiences, destination weddings, unusual wedding experiences, and wedding locations. Dwayne Jones (TM), Barbara, Eric, and Nedra Martin (TM) volunteered to answer those questions and even shared their wedding photos.

Later, there was a Round Robin Evaluation of Frederick's speech about his experience serving as our club's Vice President Of Public Relations. Everyone thought he did a great job sharing his experience and inspiring any of the members to step up to become the newly elected Vice President Of Public Relations.

At the end of tonight's hybrid meeting, we elected new club officers for the 2023-2024 Toastmasters year. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at our next hybrid meeting.
