Southern Maryland Food Bank The Southern Maryland Food Bank, easing the pain of hunger, one can at a time. Our food pantry is open every Tuesday, 9am-12pm. No appointment necessary.

The Southern Maryland Food Bank and Outreach Programs have been in operation since 1983 and are dedicated to serving Charles County of Southern Maryland. We supply a steady supply of bulk food to grassroots organizations that assist those in need without prejudice. We accomplish this by working with pantries, shelters, group homes, and soup kitchens to ensure that we are using the very best busine

ss practices and providing educational training, events, and projects. In addition, our Outreach programs provide direct service to isolated and resource-poor areas, which allows us to serve people where they are. Our Outreach Programs include Snack Saks, Senior Saks, Seeds of Hope Garden, Giving Hope Food Pantry, and the Mobile Meal Food Truck. Be sure to bring your Charles County ID.

What a wonderful time we are experiencing at the Southern Maryland Food Bank, from receiving donated hygiene products from the Delta Sorority & the Thomas Stone High School Honor Society, to over 2,000lbs. of salads & vegetables from a Freight Co, to a Birthday Food Drive donation of 800+ lbs.; since March served over 800 hot meals to Charles and St. Mary’s Counties food desert communities; participated as a vendor at the Veterans Career Day at the Pisgah Volunteer Fire Department, the Indian Head Elementary School Community Day; sponsored the LaPlata Manor Senior Appreciation Day; distributed 284 fresh produce boxes, 80 hot lunches & 484 SNACK Saks to 7 Senior facilities in Charles and St. Mary’s Counties.

To empower the residence with the tools and support they need to move forward with confidence.
