Wakefield Community Partnership

Wakefield Community Partnership A group of volunteers, seeing that the downtown could become a promising destination location, teamed together to form the event planning committee.

Created to continue, develop, and implement activities that have promoted and encouraged renewed community spirit through residential community involvement, and to support the business community of Wakefield. As facilitators of two major events each year (Festival Italia and the Holiday Stroll) the group worked towards promoting and encouraging renewed community spirit, through residential community involvement, and to support the business community of Wakefield.

It's been awhile since we have posted any news regarding the organization and its events. The Event Planning Committee Inc serves as the 501c3 for the D.B.A. Wakefield Community Partnership. From 2010 through 2019, our organization sponsored both the Wakefield Summer Festival and the Holiday Stroll. We have also conducted several other events, Food Festival, Comedy Show, North Ave Block Party, and a few others.

Between the winter of 2019 -2022, Covid prevented us from conducting our events. These events served both the community and the businesses of Wakefield. Both were very successfully presented, with no reported incidents from the Town Departments, and to the enjoyment of all who attended.
The Wakefield Community Partnership has submitted applications to the Town in order to revive both of these events once again. The Festival in 2025, due to time constraints, will not occur this year. An application was submitted to the Town in mid March to conduct the Holiday Stroll in 2025. We are awaiting a response to that request.

Our organization will continue to serve the people of Wakefield, and at the same time, support the many businesses within our community. We are seeking individuals who seek to become part of the organizing team. We are also seeking to form a list of those who would help by volunteering during our activities.
Emails can be sent to [email protected] for those who wish information or to join our group.

This Saturday, December 3rd, between 2:00-6:00 p.m., the WCP will be conducting A Day of Giving at the Holiday Stroll and Shop. A 14-year tradition that hopes to place some joy in our hearts and smiles on our faces. Rain or shine the event will go on.

This year, there will be NO street closures involved with the Stroll. It will be a true "Strolling" activity. Plenty of normal parking spaces will be available.

Join us as you dine, or conduct your Christmas shopping in the Stroll activity area. Plan an afternoon taking in the entertainment and activities that has been put in place at each of our indoor venues. Support a local merchant by buying an item from any of the shops in Wakefield as you Stroll from location to location. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to any of the venue spots in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs efforts to grant a family or child a Christmas experience.

We would like to acknowledge our sponsors to this year’s Stroll, without their support, our results would be that much harder to achieve:

Rockland Trust located at 381 Main St
Alano Apparel located at 364 Main St
The Savings Bank located at 357 Main St
Wakefield Co-operative Bank located at 342 Main St
