At a recent Wakefield-Bessemer Rotary Club meeting, Jeanne Graham, President of Emberlight, presented a program on the Emberlight Festival 2026 events, including the Art in the Park, the International Film Festival, concerts, and Pathways in Photography. Members of the Wakefield-Marenisco High School's National Honor Society recently helped members of the Wakefield Bessemer Rotary Club with one of their annual projects, the Michigan Department of Transportation's Adopt-a-highway program. At a recent meeting of the Wakefield/Bessemer Rotary Club, John Siira, left, presents a check for $945 to Joe Simonich, right, the winner of this year's "Tire on Ice" fundraiser. Simonich received half of the money collected in the contest organized by the Club. The winning guess of April 17, 2026 at 10:00 am was slightly over an hour from 8:54 am when the tire fell through Sunday Lake's ice. The Rotary Club thanks everyone who supported this year's fundraising efforts.
