Let the voting shenanigans begin. Shared within an affinity group chat from a trained NC Voting Polls Observer: Notice how the instructions on the paper ballots say to only darken circles within the lines, and if you mess up, ask for a new ballot. This is so that your ballot will not be marked invalid.
Soooo Watch out for any marks, letters, or any kind of writing on your voting ballot when you get it. If you see any mark at all, ask for a new ballot WITHOUT any marks. Ballots with marks and letters outside of the circles on the ballot can be rendered invalid by the counting machine or by counting humans after you submit the ballot.
The next message in the group chat was from someone who stated that they were in line waiting to vote when they saw the text message. They said that their ballot did have a mark on it, and they asked for a new one. So, this is real. Pay Attention!!
