Well Pistol is once again front & center with his diarrhea that persists despite probios, propectalin and biosponge with no real improvement. Been in close touch with Dr Hedberg from Dr Strain's office who thankfully is coming tomorrow a.m to give him a nasogastric tube of a special "p**p shake", she thinks will clear him up. At her suggestion I've also ordered probiotic pellets for daily use by Full Bucket.
We've had several thousand in expenses recently with equine medical needs and tomorrow plus his meds will likely be around $800.
This, on top of our broken tractor wheel and tire ($1,000) is just more than we can handle as a small, non profit rescue.
But we cannot operate without a tractor to move hay and the health of our equines is #1.
With a small mini like Pistol, diarrhea, especially when it's so hot out, can turn life threatening quickly.
