❄️ One Last Climb for the Season! ⛷️Tonight is the final Climb It For Climate event of the season, and if you’ve been thinking about joining in — this is your moment. All winter long, folks across the Valley have been heading uphill for the Climb It For Climate Uphill Challenge, getting outside, logging their miles, and raising funds to support climate resilience work right here in the Mad River Valley. It’s been a season of early mornings, headlamps, snowy skin tracks, and plenty of community spirit — all in support of a healthier watershed and a more flood-resilient future.
Tonight’s gathering is the final chance this season to celebrate the effort, the community, and the cause with fellow uphill enthusiasts. Whether you climbed once or a hundred times, come be part of the fun and help close out the season in true MRV style. Huge thanks to Mad River Valley Backcountry Coalition, Friends of the Mad River , and our mountain partners Sugarbush Resort and Mad River Glen for making this season possible. Big news from up on the hill. Mad River Glen just secured the “20th Hole” — a piece of land that’s been part of the magic of MRG for generations. Having spent 24 years connected to this mountain, I can honestly say this moment makes my heart full. It’s a testament to decades of care, hard work, and the kind of neighborly spirit that makes the MRV the MRV and Vermont… well, Vermont. MRG isn’t just a ski area — it’s a cornerstone of our community. Its independence, its soul, and its commitment to keeping skiing wild and true are worth celebrating by all of us who call the Mad River Valley home.

🎅⛷️ Ho ho ho from the Mad River Valley! ❄️ Just in time for Christmas, the MRV received a beautiful fresh dump of snow—and Santa clearly couldn’t resist taking a few turns. The skiing is shaping up wonderfully, with both Mad River Glen and Sugarbush dialed in and ready for an incredible week ahead.

The Valley is absolutely glowing under its new snowy blanket, making it the perfect backdrop for cozy moments, outdoor adventures, and unforgettable holiday memories.

From all of us in the Mad River Valley business community, thank you—locals and visitors alike—for your support throughout the year. We’re so grateful to share this special place with you.
