Folks: This weeks benefit bake at Flat Bread in Waitsfield is raising funds for the MRVCF regular fund. There has been way more than our communities share of tragedy here lately and many needs met. Please come out, eat some good food, be together, and celebrate the brighter days to come on Friday (12/16).
Thank you!

Folks:
It's come to our attention that people are receiving texts from a 303 area code that alerts the recipient that the fund is closing and we need help. Please disregard this message. The only secure and legitimate place to make a donation on line is our website via pay-pal or the old fashioned way via our mail box at PO BOX 353 Waitsfield VT 05673. This activity might be related to an online auction that is legit.

Update on the Five Families Fund.

10/14/2016

Five Families Fund

In light of the tragic loss of five young lives in an accident on Interstate-89, the Mad River Valley Community Fund has established a special fund to be used as a conduit for local donations. Many community members have asked us to step in as we are a legitimate 501c3 charitable organization. Hopefully this will obviate other crowd sourcing and all monies will be distributed.

An initial donation has been made to each family from the Mad River Valley Community Fund regular endowment to help cover immediate expenses. After consulting with the five families and finding that some families' needs are greater than others, we want to be transparent regarding how the Five Families Fund donations will be distributed. All needs stemming from the tragedy will be met. If there are funds remaining after the individual families' needs are met, the families will determine a qualified charitable fund (such as a scholarship). All Five Family Funds will be used to either address family needs or used to perpetuate the memory of these young people.

If you wish to donate please link to our website:

If you wish to donate to this fund by check, please be sure to put a "Five Families Fund" notation on your check. Our address is PO Box 353 Waitsfield VT 05673

The Mad River Valley Community Fund gratefully acknowledges the generosity of people in our local community, Vermont, and across the country.
