Vermont Ambucs We are celebrating our 16th Anniversary here in VT and are proud to say that to date we have provided

Vermont has a local chapter of AMBUCS, a national organization dedicated to providing mobility and independence for children with disabilities. These special bikes, called Amtrykes, are able to be adapted for each child's movement challenges, with special seating, trunk supports, back supports, footplates, and hand cranks. The Vermont Friends Chapter of AMBUCS is a 501 (c) (3) organization and volunteer members consist of local therapists and business people working to provide the gift of mobility to children with disabilities through the AmTryke Therapeutic Tricycle Program. The need in Vermont is great as the 2015 Cornell University Disability Status Report for Vermont reported that 500 children between the ages of 5-15 have an ambulatory disability.

Aiden 11 years old and his first bike. He was waiting in the driveway with his helmet on and body ready when we arrived. He was so excited for his 1st bike! He took off riding before we even had it adjusted!

Our most recent VT AMBUCS adaptive trike fitting with Amtrykes was a phenomenal success. If you'd like to help cover the cost for the more than 30 adaptive trikes we have provided at little cost to our riders so far in 2026, we invite you to go to our website and donate https://www.vtambucs.org/donate 100% of donations go toward cost of the trikes and expenses to obtain and upkeep them. Our time and activity is fully volunteer.

We're thrilled to welcome a full schedule of more than 15 riders today at our trike fitting in Waitsfield, VT!

VT Vermont Ambucs is unique in VT by offering adaptive trike needs evaluated, selected and fit by trained Physical and Occupational Therapists.
We are grateful to welcome and train several new volunteer PT/OTs to our event today.

All visits are scheduled in advance. Please reach out to [email protected] to inquire about future trike fittings and learn how to get on the list for a VT AMBUCS trike. Happy riding!
