Got out in the field and did some timber framing yesterday at Avon Hills Folk School. They called a bunch of us alums to see if we could come back and help get some beams ready for next year. Avon is going to try to re-raise a timber frame barn from the beams of a 100-year-old barn that is currently in storage. We were helping to cut some new and old beams in preparation. And yes, it was hot.

I was working on twisted beam and trying to straighten it a bit. My one joke of the day was to suggest, considering the heat and humidity, that we could steam bend it into shape right there on the saw horses.
