Advocating for Accessibility in Hilo! Aloha Independent Living Hawaii (AILH) is proud to advocate for a safer and more accessible community! Our public testimony regarding the proposed KBXtreme Hilo bowling alley was featured in the Hawaii Tribune-Herald, highlighting the importance of safe sidewalks, curb ramps, lighting, and pedestrian signals for people of all abilities. We are encouraged that the applicant acknowledged our concerns and expressed support for accessibility. While the project still awaits final consideration by the County Council, we remain committed to ensuring that accessibility and inclusion are priorities in our community!
