Hui Malama O Ke Kai

Hui Malama O Ke Kai The Hui Mālama O Ke Kai Foundation (HMKF) is an indigenous Hawaiian culture-based youth leadership and identity driven organization.

Programs include: Keiki, ʻŌpio, Alakaʻi, and ʻOhana/Kaiāulu. Everyday after school, Waimānalo keiki in the 5th and 6th grades participate in programming that aims to develop a sense of self through a sense of place. The keiki study, explore, and learn to be good stewards of their ahupua’a. In the ‘Ōpio Leadership program, students in the 7th-12th grades have the opportunity to serve as mentors to

their younger counterparts, perpetuating a cycle of social responsibility and instilling confidence in them to pass on what they learn.

Kiʻi 1-2 Paepae o Heʻeia | mahalo e for having us! Our keiki are always so stoked to learn from you folks!
Kiʻi 3-5 ʻŌlena harvest | Our keiki had planted these ʻōlena last kau wela. Look at their ʻōlena haul!!!!😱😍 I think it’s safe to say, all their positive words and actions they chose to aloha and mālama their ʻōlena, worked!!! Maikaʻi loa e nā keiki!
