On behalf of Piha Wellness and Healing and our Hui, I would like to extend a heartfelt Mahalo to Mayor Richard Bissen and First Lady Kāʻihi Bissen for attending, and the Proclamation reading at our Ola Maui Event at the Maui Beach Hotel on May 1st, declaring May as Mental Health Awareness Month.

We’d also like to mahalo Kumu Kapono’ai Molitau for our opening protocol, and the moʻolelo you shared with us.

A heartfelt mahalo to all of our speakers Dr. Aukahi Austin Seabury, Momilani Awo, Dr. Reid Elderts, Leni English, Kēhaulani Fergerstrom, Tia Hartsock, Kaunoa Hoʻopai, Sunnie Mākua, Jeeyun Lee, Cory Lehano, and Venus Rosete-Medeiros, who brought so much aloha, ‘ike kupuna, and laughter to our event.

I’d like to also thank each and every person who attended our event, for taking time out of your day to spend with us. I’d also like to thank our sponsors, Maui United Way.

I want to personally thank our Board of Directors, and our hui, although small in numbers; you are mighty in carrying out the intention, and vision, of Piha Wellness and Healing!

I am forever grateful to each of you!

Mahalo Piha,
Michele Navarro Ishiki
