🌱✨ Our 2025–2026 School Garden Annual Report is HERE and we are SO proud of what we’re growing together!

This year’s data tells a beautiful story: 95.1% of students love or like their garden experience, 94% of teachers want to expand garden learning into their core curriculum, and keiki across six Maui elementary schools are deepening their connection to the ʻāina in ways that go far beyond the classroom. 🌺

The garden doesn’t stop at the school gate! ʻOhana are cooking with fresh local ingredients, learning alongside their keiki, and even starting home gardens. Our keiki are becoming farmers, scientists, and stewards of the land. 🌿👩‍🌾🔬

From science, to health and Hawaiian studies, garden lessons are woven into the way our keiki learn and grow every single day. Teachers, students, and ʻohana, you all make this possible, and we are so grateful for every one of you!

Keep an eye out for the report from your keiki’s school to see the impact happening right in your own backyard. 🌻

Mahalo for helping us plant seeds of change across Maui! 🤙💚

Grow Some Good would not exist without the vision, heart, and tireless dedication of our founding member, Nio Kindla. 🌱
In honor of his legacy, we’re creating a meaningful memorial that captures who he was and the profound impact he had on our community, our keiki, and the future of food and farming in our schools.

We’re collecting stories, memories, and reflections from those who knew him. Whether you worked alongside him in the early days, crossed paths at a school garden, or were simply touched by his mission. Every perspective matters.
Together, these stories will help us honor Nio in a way that’s as genuine and full of life as he was. 🤍

Share your memories using the link in our bio. Submissions will be used thoughtfully as we shape how Nio’s story is told within GSG, on our website, and beyond. Photos welcome too.

We begin reviewing submissions in late May — thank you for helping us keep his story alive!
