While there are many ways to support our hospitals, we are focused on the issues that have a direct impact on our communityʻs ability to access healthcare. Our current funding initiatives include:

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lukas Nelson will headline Lōkahi: A Celebration of Maui with Paul Simon, Stephen Wilson Jr., Lily Meola, the Maui Country Band, plus friends & family for a benefit concert to support Maui Health Foundation’s Housing for Healthcare, an initiative addressing the island’s urgent shortage of medical professionals.

Lōkahi: oneness, community, harmony, unity. Lōkahi is the Hawaiian word for people coming together to take care of one another, uniting as one.

Join us as we come together as a community to share an amazing night under the stars with an incredible lineup of talent. Lukas Nelson’s vision for Lōkahi was to create an evening of special performances and celebration with his Hawaiʻi music community. In the spirit of Lōkahi, uniting together to support your community, all net proceeds will benefit a local Maui charity, Housing for Healthcare.

As we head toward the end of 2025, we’re feeling incredibly grateful for what our community has made possible 💙

Thanks to the collective efforts of local businesses and supporters, Kōkua 4 a Cause has raised $107,086.20 to date—proof of the powerful impact we can make when we show up for one another.

Through the collaboration of 61 Community Partners, these funds are already at work, helping women on Maui and Lānaʻi access breast cancer screenings and vital follow-up care, including ultrasounds and biopsies when needed.

Mahalo to everyone who has participated so far. Your support is helping ease access to care and offering reassurance to women and families across our community.💙

This Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating the people who make world-class care possible here on Maui — our nurses, doctors, specialists, and support staff.

But many of these caregivers face one of Maui’s biggest challenges: finding stable, affordable housing.

That’s why Maui Health Foundation launched the Housing for Healthcare initiative — and thanks to donors like you, we’ve raised $17.3 million of our $20 million goal.

This year more than ever, we have been reminded that generosity is not just a donation. It is a gesture of love. It is someone saying, “I care about you even if we have never met.”

As a team, we talk often about the moments that stay with us, like the grateful patient who sends a small note of thanks, the business that gives because they want to help one family breathe easier, and the donor who quietly honors a loved one through a gift.

�And then there are the moments when generosity transforms care — helping build a home for a nurse or making it possible for a physician to save a life with technology that elevates what is possible here on Maui.

These moments shape us. They remind us why this work matters.

We are so grateful to our donors that are making it possible for more healthcare professionals to stay here on Maui through the Housing for Healthcare initiative. We recently celebrated the supporters of this program at a lovely dinner event gifted by Spago in Wailea.

While our community was already facing a housing crisis, it became even more exacerbated by the August 2023 wildfires. This program has not only helped physicians successfully move to Maui to serve our community, but it has also helped a nurse stay on Maui after losing her home to the Lahaina fires. It has provided stable housing for a medical assistant to work full time as she pursues a bachelor’s in nursing. Its provided peace for a doctor as he established a new medical practice while raising a family.
