11/13/24 “The behemoth in me”
Job 40:15-24
O) Wow I absolutely cannot express how powerful this passage is, so buckle up, this might be a long one! 😂 Thank you Lord for the amazing insight and revelation within this passage. Seemingly so simple or un significant, but so powerful if you dare to hear and listen with intent on finding the goodness within. Why would God compare a behemoth to the creation of man(job 40:15)? Describing the unknown creature to us and how and in symbolism why it was created the way it was. He also compares the specific behemoth to other beasts. This fully encapsulated the vision. Helping me to see what God is trying to convey to Job about God‘s sovereignty and power over ALL of his creations. Questioning to Job that if even the beasts can hold such trust in who their creator is, why can’t he? Better yet, why can’t we!?
The behemoth made along with us eats grass just like an ox. He is strong and powerful, and has a tail like cedar which is a symbol of beauty, durability, royalty, and even of fragrance. His ribs of iron, which symbolize fortitude, honor, courage, and confidence in power. His bones of bronze which symbolize firmness, strength, endurance, and even stubbornness. Such significance in the well thought out creation as a whole by the hands of God.
Each description God gives in the making of the behemoth shows that he was built strong inside and out and in some likeness to us. Bones made of bronze give strength to the foundation in Who we are made for. Honoring God with our breath which is supported with iron ribs. Even created with a strong will and desire to drive forward with tail of cedar to abide in obedience.
He is a beast, but he chooses not to live amongst the other beasts. I believe he knows and hears the voice of his creator who tells him to lay under the Lotus tree for shade. The lotus tree, symbolizing rebirth, purity, and resilience. Shaded and protected from the outside, and even though he faces the raging river, he knows he has been built to stand and endure in his given strength. That he is protected from roaming the fields with the other beasts lest his nose be pierced with a snare. Which, even this I find symbolism for being captured and falling into the peer pressures of others around you to do what is considered “normal and acceptable.” Refusing to run the fields and instead taking shelter under the Lotus and in the raging river. The river continuously flowing over him, he is saved, and does not have to succumb to snare which is to be bound and controlled with. The trust between the behemoth and his creator gives him the wisdom from becoming captured and put into chains. He is free and is strong by the means to which he was built. The behemoth knows and trust that his creator; and his creator alone, has all the power and authority over his life. Because he is in thanks to his creators voice, he has the wisdom to follow the instructions given. For by the strength and wisdom given to the behemoth, only He who made him can bring near His sword.
A) I will live in reverence to my Creator! I will know and stand on the truth that I am here as a perfect creation, for perfect intentions with perfect functions and perfectly built foundations for my specified purpose. I choose to put myself in the means of this behemoth. To find the behemoth within me and know that I am built with a strong foundation like bronze. That I also have iron ribs to honor and fortify my breath by speaking life and giving praise to my creator. I am propelled in the strength, beauty and fragrance like cedar. And my wisdom and obedience in the Lords calling, protect me from the snares that might keep me captive. I stand in the river of refreshment and under the shade that is my rebirth and purity made possible by Christ. I shall turn my eyes off from the normalities of the earth and I turn my eyes and heart to the things of spiritual moral and walk in the paths the Lord sets before me.
P) Lord, thank you for saving me from the nose snares of life. If i at all should succumb to a snare, let it be by the sword of You who created me. That you may tame my lips from things that do not give you glory. Your sword to tame my mind from things that are of the earth. I accept the sword at your hand to do what you will with my body as it is not mine but yours as You please. That your sword which is your living Word pierce me in any which way you find fit. I am your creation, and I stand in the foundation to which I was built to serve to honor to magnify your name and to stand firm against the oppression of the world, and to stay steadfast in your rushing Waters. Thank you Jesus for this amazing powerful revelation of my strength as a creation of Your heart. May I fulfill all of what my purpose is for You with a behemoth type way.
