Due to current events we regretfully have decided not to hold this years annual music fundraiser. This decision wasn’t made easily. We hope you will continue to support our mission of placing ukuleles in the hands of pediatric oncology patients in Hawaii.

It is with great sadness that we have come to the very difficult decision not to hold the 8th annual Ryan’s light Music Night Fundraiser. We’ve had Seven consecutive wonderful years at the same venue with some of the most talented artist on the island. We’ve had some truly epic events, everything from pirates, mermaids, fire dancers, children choirs & haluas, Tahitian dance group, painters, harpist, local media etc...We are so very fortunate to have had such a long, productive and successful run. Although the fundraiser will not be taking place this year we will still will continue to provide both Tripler and Kapiolani hospitals with Ryan’s light ukuleles for their pediatric oncology patients. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of the foundation over the years. If you have a child with cancer at either Tripler or Kapiolani hospital and have not received a Ryan’s light ukulele please contact child life or send us a message. Thank you all for being a part of this very difficult road we have been on without our sweet Ryan. Life keeps moving forward and all we can do is continue to just keep swimming. Thank you all for the love, light & Aloha. Our cups runneth over.

~May the rhythm of the music uplift your soul

Today marks 8 years since you died in my arms. Eight years since I’ve heard your voice other than in my dreams. Eight years since I have gotten to hold your hand, feel your sweet kiss or hold you tight. Today is hard. Life is hard without you my son. I’m still trying to find the light through the darkness but it isn’t easy. There are days I want to just lay down and rest for forever. I’ll keep breathing though and putting one foot in front of the other for you & your brothers. I promise we will love and miss you forever & we will meet you there sweet boy somewhere over that rainbow, someday. Punch kisses little one. All of my love.

We brought music therapy to children with cancer in Hawaii for the first time. It was our sole purpose to provide a happy experience and put a smile on a child’s face while being hospitalized and undergoing chemotherapy. Sometimes our sessions were provided while the children received chemo, but mostly they were provided as the children were in patient on the oncology ward. Music, as well as art and dance are so very healing 🎶
