Waialua Team 359 "The Hawaiian Kids" It’s not about winning…. It’s about teamwork, commitment, and responsibility! Aloha! We’re FIRST Team 359 of Waialua Robotics, a.k.a. the Hawaiian Kids!

We proudly represent Hawaii as not only the first FRC team, but also as the first robotics-related program in the state! We have been a part of FIRST since 1999 and have participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition for thirteen years. Comprised of a relatively small and dedicated group of diverse students, mentors, and volunteers, we strive to transform the culture of our plantation community through the values of FIRST. Last week, we celebrated our annual end-of-the-year party with our team members, families, friends, mentors, sponsors, and grantors! We looked back on all of our accomplishments from this season and recognized the people who made a huge impact on our team. To show our appreciation, we presented custom awards to students, mentors, families, and individuals for their dedication and involvement throughout the year, and awarded our seniors with scholarships to further their education. Team 359 is honored to be a 2026 FIRST Championship FIRST Impact Award Finalist. The FIRST Impact Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST, recognizing a team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST.

We are incredibly grateful and proud to be recognized for the work that our students and mentors put in to expanding STEM and FIRST in Hawaii! Mahalo to all of our sponsors, grantors, mentors, alumni, families, friends, and the Waialua community: this award recognizes each and every one of us! Thank you for standing by us and supporting us in inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders.
