The Kiwanis mission - Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. The Kiwanis vision - Kiwanis will be a positi

ve influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive. The Kiwanis motto - Serving the children of the world

The Kiwanis Objects

To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life. To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships. To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards. To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship. To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service and to build better communities. To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and goodwill. Kiwanis members’ activities support the Kiwanis causes: Health and nutrition; Education and literacy; and Youth leadership development. Together, these causes form a continuum of impact — helping young people develop throughout childhood and into adulthood. Each cause also supports the others, ultimately creating a generation of leaders who also contribute to that continuum.

Our local Kiwanis Club was honored to welcome Carter The Carterman Kava as our guest today to speak during Williams Syndrome Awareness Month. Carter shared his incredible gifts with us through memorized speeches, jokes that kept everyone laughing, and musical performances that truly impressed the room.

Williams syndrome is a rare genetic condition, and Carter helped bring awareness in such a positive and inspiring way. His confidence, personality, and talents were a great reminder of the unique abilities every individual brings to our community.

Thank you, Carter, for sharing your story and your gifts with us!

We were treated to something special at this week’s Kiwanis meeting! 🎶

Adrian and Brandon were music camp scholarship recipients that joined us and shared their talents by performing a couple of songs. It was incredible to see firsthand how these opportunities are helping young musicians grow in confidence and skill.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do—supporting youth and investing in their futures. Thank you to these talented performers and Mrs Stoppleworth for sharing your gifts with us!

This week our Kiwanis club had the pleasure of hearing from Dr. William Welder, an innovative local eye doctor, who shared how early vision care can make a huge difference in a child’s development.

We also learned about a wonderful opportunity for families in our community that Prairie Vision Center has offered for over 20 years— FREE eye screenings for infants ages 6–12 months. Early screenings can help detect potential vision issues long before a child is able to communicate that something is wrong.

Thank you to our guest for sharing your expertise and for helping make sure the youngest members of our community get a strong start with healthy vision!

Coach Amanda Lunsetter with players Garnett Anderson, Alex Comings, and Gracin Kaste of Wahpeton Huskies Tennis stopped by our meeting today to talk about their successful season and what it was like sending some players to the state tournament. Hearing their reflections reminds us of how well these young men represent our school and community on and off the court!
