In honor of National Police Week & in remembrance of Richland County’s lawmen killed in the line of duty (George E. Moody EOW 12/9/1911 and Evan M. Jones EOW 4/17/1917) we are lighting the town blue!

A thank you to our Richland County Facilities Supervisor John Anderson and Wahpeton Public Works Superintendent Don Wald for making this happen.

Congratulations to Luke Anderson of Wahpeton, ND on being one of five NDFOP 2026 Scholarship Winners!

This scholarship is awarded to five children or grandchildren of Law Enforcement officers in ND each year who have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Luke is the son of Wahpeton Police Chief Matthew Anderson!

Lodge #6 was able to take 10 families shopping on Tuesday night! Everyone had so much fun eating pizza and shopping! Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success! ❤️

👮‍♀️👮‍♂️👦🧒It's that time of year! Nominations are now open for 2025 Santa, Cops & Kids!
If you know of a family that is struggling and you'd like to spread some extra cheer this Christmas, please nominate them! Preference will be given to families with financial hardship.
Families MUST reside in Richland, Sargent, or Ransom counties. We are not able to accept nominations from Minnesota.
We do not generally accept families that have participated before, so we want to share this experience with any many families as we can!

Fill out the following form to nominate families for Santa, Cops and Kids 2025. Families MUST reside in Richland, Sargent, or Ransom Counties. We are not able to accept nominations from families residing in Minnesota. The event will take place on December 9th, 2025 at 5:30pm in Wahpeton.

This week we celebrated our Officer & Auxiliary Member of the year; Officer Dean Christopherson & Correctional Sergeant Mollie Buckhouse!

Officer Christopherson has brought many years of experience and new ideas to the Wahpeton Police Department, being a phenomenal mentor to the younger officers!

Correctional Sergeant Buckhouse has shown exemplary initiative with introducing the IGNITE Program & Hustle 2.0 into the Richland County Correctional Center, which has shown amazing results!

Southeast FOP Lodge 6 is thankful for Officer Christopherson & Correctional Sergeant Buckhouse’s service and dedication to law enforcement in Richland County!
