is Back 🍦🚴. Please share!

Again this summer, Wagner CTC is hosting Project Safe Ride-a youth safety initiative. Wagner Police officers will once again be on the lookout for youth 18 and under who are wearing their helmets while using any kind of wheels! If you're "caught being safe," you'll receive a certificate for a FREE sweet treat from Wagner Buche Foods!

NEW this year!
We know not every child rides where a police officer may see them. If your child:
✅ Doesn't "get caught" by a police officer
✅ Attends Wagner Community School
✅ Lives on a farm, in rural housing, or outside of town
✅ Wears a helmet during wheeled activities
They can still participate!

Simply:
📸 Take a photo of your child wearing a properly fitted helmet while riding their bike, scooter, skateboard, rollerblades, or other wheeled activity.
👨‍👩‍👧 Youth, accompanied by a parent or guardian can bring a photo to Wagner Buche Foods.
🍦 They'll receive a Sweet Treat for making safe choices!
One certificate per youth.

Our goal is simple: Praise and reward every youth who chooses healthy life choices by using a helmet with wheeled activities.

Congratulations River—our first youth “Caught Being Safe”! 🪖🚴

Way to go for making the smart choice to wear your helmet while enjoying your wheeled adventure! Your commitment to safety not only protects you but also sets a great example for others in our community.

Because she was caught being safe by the Wagner Police Department, River earned a certificate for a FREE sweet treat and redeemed it with Marla from Wagner Buche Foods!

Remember, every ride is a better ride with a helmet. Keep rolling, keep having fun, and keep making safety a habit!

Happy Father's Day & Men's Mental Health Awareness Month 💙

As we celebrate Father's Day this weekend, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles, mentors, and father figures who make a positive difference in the lives of our youth and community.

June is also Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health. Strong role models show that it's okay to talk about feelings, ask for help, and support one another through life's challenges.

A simple conversation can make a meaningful impact. Take time today to check in with the men and boys in your life, listen without judgment, and remind them that support is available and seeking help is a sign of strength.

Lots of fun was had at the Rollin’ Into Summer Safely event! 🚴 Over 200 helmets were given to WCS K-2 graders and bikes were given out at the after school event. Students learned to wear a helmet to keep their head safe and that healthy choices protect their brain.

Thank you to all the amazing partners who helped fit helmets and support this event, including Wagner Police Department, Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office, SPARK, Hope Squad, Matt, Kelly, and Connie. Thanks to SD EMS for Children for supplying the helmets for this event. A special thank you to Officers Sienna and Delilah for demonstrating safe and unsafe bike riding behaviors to help teach students important bike safety skills. (See photos!)

We appreciate everyone who helped make this event fun, educational, and successful!
