We are grateful to hear Doug Collins views at his Senate confirmation hearing this week to serve as the next VA Secretary. With a strong bipartisan vote, the Senate VA Committee advanced Mr. Collins’ nomination earlier today. ICYMI, Chief Lipphardt – a fellow Georgian – reached out to Mr. Collins after his selection to wish him the best in the confirmation process. After a refreshingly bipartisan dialogue this week on issues like VA care, benefits access, and military transition, the VFW anticipates Mr. Collins will be confirmed by the full Senate very soon, and we look forward to working with him to “Honor the Contract” in serving our nation’s veterans, caregivers, and survivors.

Here are a few pictures from our Veterans Day program which was held on Nov 11, 2023.
- Jennifer Barnett, Presley Salba, Hannah Holzbauer and Wesley Holzbauer were entertainment at the Veteran’s Day Banquet. Jennifer spoke about her experience as last years State winner of the Voice of Democracy contest. She received all expense paid trips to Washington, D.C. and Valley Forge, PA. Presley Slaba was this years Post 7319 VOD winner and Hannah and Wesley Holzbauer were Patriot’s Pen winners from Post 7319. All will compete in the District 7 contest.
- Continuous membership pins were presented to Jerry Seiner, 20 years, John Stone, 35 years and Lavern Rezac, 45 years.
