Today is always a weird day...the day that I sensed something wasn’t right from the moment I woke but no one seemed to hear me...the day I was calmly sent to the hospital to be induced because she had “quieted down” in assumption of my labor which had begun. The day that I labored and was surrounded by an amazing team of family and nurses who will forever have a special place in my heart. Today is not her “birth” day by a mere 15 minutes but it always feels more difficult than her actual birthday because it is filled with so many what ifs. What if I had noticed sooner? What if those huge movements I felt right before I went to sleep the night before had broken my water and everything was the way it was supposed to be? What if those huge movements weren’t me witnessing her likely struggling and thrashing for survival? What if I had noticed sooner? Today isn’t her “birth” day but it was the day everything started to shift from normal to complete devastation. I remember everything about today, 7 years ago. What I ate, what I wore, what I did at work, the sights and smells of being admitted to L&D. The whole day felt cautionary...and it was. The eve of this day is always very melancholy but today I am filled with hope because it is also the eve of a movement that wouldn’t be if that sweet baby girl didn’t help me and so many others

6 years ago I was in labor, Surrounded by an incredible team and feeling so hope and joy-filled. Everything was moving so quickly...so intensely. It's almost time, they said... I didn't feel ready.
I wanted to freeze time for a moment so my heart and head could catch up to one another. It was almost as if I unknowingly was trying to preserve life as I knew it... before everything turned so wrong.
6 years ago I was preparing to push my baby girl into this world.
6 years later, I continue to push... Through the heartache, through the fear and tragedy of her loss, I push and focus on the love that I have for her. Thankful she's forever on my side "pushing" me along...pushing me to love deeper, to parent better, and to live truer.
In the blink of an eye... in one breath... with one push, our journey into parenthood began... it's almost time...are you ready? Head over to the event to "join" us!
