🍽 Food Waste Doesn't Just Happen in Our Kitchens.

We all know households have food that goes uneaten but businesses have surplus food, too.

🍔 Restaurants
🛒 Grocery & retail stores
⛽ Gas stations & convenience stores
🏫 Schools
🏢 Corporate dining halls
🍽 Caterers & food service operators
🍅 Farm markets

Every day, these businesses may have perfectly good food that can no longer be sold- but could still help feed someone in our community.

👀 Here's where you come in.

The next time you're at a food business, ask one simple question:

"What do you do with your excess food?"

If the answer is "We throw it away," tell them about Food Rescue US-Akron.

💚 Tell the business owner or manager about us.
📱Share www.foodrescue.us with them.
🤝 Offer to connect them with us at [email protected]
📣 Tag us on social media when you spread the word.

We can help businesses figure out whether their surplus food can be donated and connect it with a local agency. Our volunteers handle the pickup and delivery- getting good food where it can be used instead of where it becomes waste.

You don't have to be be a volunteer to be a food rescuer.

Sometimes, all it takes is one person asking one question.

Together, we can make sure more good food feeds people, not landfills. 💚

October and autumn has arrived at The Trolley Line House

A big thank you to everyone who came out Saturday night for our full moon hike. The weather was beautiful and the fire was roaring in the fire place for s’mores. Thank you to Tom Stugmyer for being his telescope out for us to look through even though it was too cloudy. Also thank you to all our volunteers that came to help.
