Anson County Water System Restoration Continues

WADESBORO, NC- Restoration efforts continue on the Anson County water system with continued success. Since the water main break occurred on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, crews have been working around the clock to repair any leaks and to facilitate the restoration of clean, safe drinking water. By last Thursday, July 9, 2026, water had been restored for firefighting use and by the end of Friday, July 10, 2026, water was restored to the entirety of the system. Intermittent disruptions may be possible as the over 850 miles of pipeline is flushed, but widespread outages are not expected. A boil water advisory remains in effect until testing is completed, ensuring that the water is safe to drink, and residents are asked to conserve water to allow water quantities and pressure to be maximized for flushing, sanitizing, and testing.

“We remain grateful to all of the Anson County personnel and to our partners from the state, neighboring counties, non-profit organizations, and volunteers who have been assisting our community for the past week,” said Chairman of the Anson County Board of Commissioners, Jamie Caudle. “We will get through this unfortunate situation together and will continue work to plan for future improvements to mitigate risks to our public utility infrastructure.”

Residents that need bottled drinking water can obtain that by visiting any fire station in the county between 8am and 7pm. As of today, the county has received approximately 225 pallets of water to date. For any residents that cannot go to a fire station to pick up water, please call 704-694-7083 to request a delivery.

Our friends at the Union County, NC Chamber reached out to Pepsi, and we are excited to share that the Anson County Chamber has coordinated with Rodney Morton, who will pick up a donation of water from Pepsi in Harrisburg tomorrow and deliver it to Anson County.

We are deeply grateful to Rodney for volunteering his time to pick up and transport this much-needed water for our community.

A huge thank you to Steve Navy with Pepsi for working all day to secure this generous donation. Your kindness, partnership, and commitment to helping Anson County during this time mean so much.

It truly takes a community working together, and we are incredibly thankful for everyone stepping up to support our county. 💙

Thank you to Rodney Diggs, and all the volunteers, fire department, police, sheriff and any other group, you are appreciated.

Please share with those that may need water tomorrow.

Be sure to show your support to all these companies that have supported Anson in our time of need.
