Kick Butts Day 2015 - great job students!

Wadena-Deer Creek students in grades 9-12 joined other students across the country today (March 18) to say “no” to to***co.

As part of the annual Kick Butts Day, students from WDC’s CHAMP (Chemical Health Awareness & Multi-Drug Prevention) organized a social media campaign called “Not A Replacement.” It’s in response to memos within the to***co industry that suggest kids as “replacements” for the half-million smokers who die every year.

“The idea behind today’s campaign is that we don’t want to be a replacement for the next generation of smokers,” said Autumn Jahnke, a senior, and one of the CHAMP volunteers.

Also participating in the CHAMP campaign were students Jennifer Craig, Jessica Langer, Samantha Manselle, Carrie Nelson and Danyel Post.

These CHAMP volunteers encouraged students over their lunch period to take selfies and post them on social media with the hashtag .
