Maybe a bit personal, but this one made me cry when I was asked to share, since Lucille was more than a dedicated community leader, but she was also a member of my family. What an amazing memorial this will be.

Thank you to the 4H Dog Training Team, for your thoughtful and meaningful initiative. ❤️🙏

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our good friend, Vietnam Veteran, and fellow park board member, Phil Thoennes. Phil dedicated his time, energy, and passion to the Wadena VFW, Veterans Park, and many other organizations. He was always working to ensure that the service and sacrifice of our veterans were honored and remembered.

Phil's kindness, leadership, and commitment to our community will leave a lasting legacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We stopped by the Wadena VFW this morning and caught the Post 3922 Color Guard preparing to travel to a funeral in Wolf Lake to honor a deceased fellow soldier. From left, Chuck Schoberg, Jim White, Phil Thoennes, Kelly McAllister, Larry Clark and John Rebischke.

The Color Guard stands as a powerful symbol of respect, patriotism and tradition. Whether presenting the colors at community events or honoring fellow veterans at funeral services, these dedicated members carry out their duties with dignity and heartfelt pride.

Their presence is a reminder of the sacrifices made and the bond of those who served. We thank them for their commitment to honoring our veterans.

The Wadena VFW Color Guard and Auxiliary will be participating in Wadena’s June Jubilee Grand Parade on Saturday, June 14. Parade kicks off at 6pm!
