One of the reasons I love serving with Mission Partners for Christ is the follow up and continued watering of the seeds planted while serving medical needs.
I went on a trip in 2023 to Burundi & this is the follow up we received today with one of our missionary partners. Backstory is that this was a small island with about 50 families. They had no access to clean water and therefore had many medical problems. A well wasn’t a good option so I suggested water filters like we had taken to Haiti many times. Y’all, God provided the funds and contacts to make it happen. Here is the update:
Hello: I hope that each of you are doing well.
Update from Brother Morris:
On Tuesday July 14, I visited Ruyoka island and the old woman you saw in the picture her testimonies was this.
You didn't just give us water filters. You gave us life. My mind just went to the Gospel of John chapter four verse fourteen. About the story of Jesus and Samaritan woman.
Let me quote what she narrated.
This small device in my hand was more than equipment. It was a miracle from heaven. Many people have been asking how the water filter came out to Ruyoka island but we told them that is because God saw us and our challenge.
Another woman beside added that since the filter came to our community. My four children have not been sick. I now use my income to sell vegetables and pay school for my children.
Thank you for giving us life.
We used to drink contaminated water from the lake and our children were always sick.
We faced sickness like Diarrhea, typhoid and skin disease from dirty water and this filter has helped us more than 80%
A pastor in charge with those people concluded by saying
Whoever gives a cup of Cold water in my name will not lose his rewards. Matthew 10:42
Prayer points:
Pray for a group of women living around Ruyoka island that they form association through our teaching on transformational community development. They have a big vegetable garden and they are trusting God for miraculous provisions of $200 to buy insect sides to spray on cabbage and tomatoes which is very costly at Kirundo.
They are also trusting God to get more benches and putting window and doors to the place of worship.
***THIS is why I will continue to serve as God calls me!! Hallelujah
