More Than Just Alive

More Than Just Alive More Than Just Alive was originally our non profit organization used to support our mission work in Haiti.

Upon the dissolution of the non profit, we now use this page to keep our supporters up to date on mission opportunities and how you can support.

One of the reasons I love serving with Mission Partners for Christ is the follow up and continued watering of the seeds planted while serving medical needs.

I went on a trip in 2023 to Burundi & this is the follow up we received today with one of our missionary partners. Backstory is that this was a small island with about 50 families. They had no access to clean water and therefore had many medical problems. A well wasn’t a good option so I suggested water filters like we had taken to Haiti many times. Y’all, God provided the funds and contacts to make it happen. Here is the update:

Hello: I hope that each of you are doing well.

Update from Brother Morris:

On Tuesday July 14, I visited Ruyoka island and the old woman you saw in the picture her testimonies was this.
You didn't just give us water filters. You gave us life. My mind just went to the Gospel of John chapter four verse fourteen. About the story of Jesus and Samaritan woman.
Let me quote what she narrated.
This small device in my hand was more than equipment. It was a miracle from heaven. Many people have been asking how the water filter came out to Ruyoka island but we told them that is because God saw us and our challenge.
Another woman beside added that since the filter came to our community. My four children have not been sick. I now use my income to sell vegetables and pay school for my children.
Thank you for giving us life.
We used to drink contaminated water from the lake and our children were always sick.
We faced sickness like Diarrhea, typhoid and skin disease from dirty water and this filter has helped us more than 80%
A pastor in charge with those people concluded by saying
Whoever gives a cup of Cold water in my name will not lose his rewards. Matthew 10:42

Prayer points:
Pray for a group of women living around Ruyoka island that they form association through our teaching on transformational community development. They have a big vegetable garden and they are trusting God for miraculous provisions of $200 to buy insect sides to spray on cabbage and tomatoes which is very costly at Kirundo.

They are also trusting God to get more benches and putting window and doors to the place of worship.

I have had a hard time putting into words our experience in Boone, NC last week with Samaritan’s Purse. But I am going to try. If you have an opportunity to go with them and volunteer, DO IT! It doesn’t cost you anything….only your time off work. Samaritan’s Purse is one of the most organized groups I have been with and their main purpose is truly ministering to not only the people who are being served but those that came to serve.

The stories we heard from our neighbors and their experiences during and after Hurricane Helene are nothing short of miraculous. We would stop every morning and every afternoon at a local coffee shop and EVERY time, people would stop us and tell us their story and how Samaritan’s Purse volunteers had helped and ministered to them. God is so good and allowed me the opportunity to serve in Jesus name last week!
Here are a few pictures.

Hey friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season celebrating the birth of our savior! As we go into the new year, I wanted to make you aware of a serving opportunity for you. Well, I have one spot left on the team. It is currently slotted for a female but I can change to a male if a male is interested. 😊

I have organized a team to go to Boone, NC to help our neighbors rebuild from Hurricane Helene. We are partnering with Samaritan’s Purse to minister to the people of Watuga County, NC. In September 2024, hurricane Helene tour through western North Carolina, dumping extreme, rainfall and causing catastrophic damage, leading parts of the region in ruins. Rebuild volunteers will work to rebuild and repair homes damaged during this event. Far beyond the physical help you will extend to the homeowners, the spiritual, and emotional support you offer to them is even more important.

So if you have been interested in a mission opportunity but not ready to go international, here is your opportunity!! Send me a message and I can give you the details.

And guess what? No fundraising needed!! It does not cost anything but your food on the way up and back home. Room and board is covered!!

Had a great, cold 🥶 morning serving with our church family at our Mobile pantry. God is so good!!
