Yesterday we had a very informative Newcomers and Neighbors luncheon at the Baylor Club with Addison Scott, attorney at Rainey and Rainey, discussing elder law. It’s amazing what we don’t know about what we should be doing with our assets. Next month’s luncheon will be held on February 18 with reservations due by February 13. Seeing that it is Valentine’s Day month, we will be celebrating Galentine’s, so don your pink, red, hearts, or roses attire, if you so wish. We have also added a new category to our door prizes. You can choose to put your tickets 🎟️ into the basket 🧺 for the cute, fun, and unknown prizes or into another basket for a free NNN luncheon, which is quite a good deal, if you win. Or you can choose to place tickets into both baskets. Hope to see everyone at our next luncheon, along with many new faces.

Yesterday was our last luncheon for 2025 and we celebrated with song and games, and many wore Christmas attire, whether it was festive skirts and tops, ugly Christmas sweaters, or silly headbands. Our first meeting in 2026 will be on January 21 with reservations due by January 16. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Healthy New Year. Hope to see everyone in January!

Elizabeth Barnhill of Fabled Bookstores was our guest speaker yesterday and discussed all the wonderful books that were some of her favorites that she read this past year. What an excellent speaker and so knowledgeable. Fall was in the air with members and guests dressed in their lovely fall colors and cute table decorations celebrating the season. Next month’s luncheon will be held Dec 17, with reservations due by Dec 12. We will be celebrating the holidays with carols, games, terrific door prizes, and donning our festive attire, ugly Christmas sweaters, or antlers and Santa hats…whatever you wish. Bring your friends and let’s have a party!

Rumor has it the 2025-2026 directory will be available at the luncheon next week! The cover is a secret but below you can see the covers since 2001. The first bound and printed directory was published that year when Sally Martin was President, Marie Gauthier Provencher was 1st Vice President, Bette Rudolph was Treasurer, and Sharon Clark was Recording Secretary...all these women are still members of the club!
