Heads up to those traveling on I-35 this weekend through Waco. I-35 will be closed and traffic will be routed on the frontage roads but you can take the loop around Waco to avoid the mess. The alternative is to find your way to New Road and head down to Armadillo Harley-Davidson to see the stunt shows put on by the DFW Hooligans. You can check Armadillos FB page for the event times.

I-35 WACO SOUTH | Beginning Friday night, TxDOT and its contractor will begin removal of the South Valley Mills Drive direct connect to northbound I-35 as part of the My35 Waco South Construction Project.

Work will take approximately 24 hours and require closure of:
• All I-35 mainlanes between New Road and 12th Street
• East/westbound crossings at 17th & 18th Streets, Valley Mills Drive, and Irving Lee Street/Primrose Drive

Following the removal, the Irving Lee Street/Primrose Drive underpass will remain closed for an additional 14 days for drainage and utility work, with reopening anticipated on Saturday, Aug. 22.

These closures will allow crews to safely remove the direct connect and begin preparations to construct the new Diverging Diamond Intersection (DDI) planned for the area.

For those that haven't heard, there is a new motorcycle rally coming to Central Texas on October 24-26. Walnut Springs Motorcycle Rally is a rally geared toward riding. Our chapter will be there supporting Armadillo Harley-Davidson as one of the primary sponsors. Check our the Walnut Springs Motorcycle Rally webpage for some ride suggestions and we'll see you there.

We're heading to Chisholm's Restaurant in Godley for breakfast tomorrow. Meet at Armadillo Harley-Davidson at 8 and we ride out at 8:30. Last one there is picking up the tab so get there early!

We rode to Wesley Woods Retirement Home today after our chapter meeting and a great visit. We had an enthusiastic group greet us and we talked about our motorcycles and riding experiences of some residents. There were a few that wanted a ride but maybe next time. Marks trike took center stage inside the building and the residents loved looking at it. Many of them went outside to see the other bikes and they really enjoyed seeing them. We asked if it was OK to come back in a few months and it was a resounding YES.
