The situation in Colombia is continuing to evolve, and right now, it is not getting better.

Families have lost loved ones. Communities have been devastated. People are injured, displaced, and facing an uncertain road ahead. And as the full scope of this disaster becomes clearer, so does the need for help.

Heal-Corp is asking you to stand with us.
We are a 100% donation-supported humanitarian disaster response organization. That means when disaster strikes, our ability to respond is directly connected to the people who choose to support this mission.

We are headed home after serving 1,311 meals in 4 days in Menasha, Wisconsin.
But this trip was about so much more than a number.

Behind every meal was a person, a family, and a community trying to find some sense of normal after so much was taken from them. We came to Menasha, Wisconsin with one simple purpose—to serve. To give people one less thing to worry about, even if only for a little while.

Disaster relief isn’t always about doing something huge. Sometimes it’s a hot meal, a conversation, a hug, a smile, or simply letting someone know that people they’ve never met cared enough to show up.

And we certainly didn’t do this alone.

A very special thank you to our friend Colby Wheeler, who drove about seven hours from Iowa just to volunteer alongside us. He didn’t have to make that drive or give up his time. He simply saw a need and chose to show up. ❤️ People like Colby remind me that you don’t have to be directly affected by a disaster to make a difference—you just have to be willing to care.

I  also want to give a huge thanks to Blong Wang! Blong is a local resident who came and helped us set up. The Tents helped us every day and ran many mills to the areas where the homes had been destroyed. Thank you Blong! 

I also cannot say enough about St. Thomas Church in Menasha. From the moment we arrived, they opened their doors to us and gave us a place to set up, cook, and feed their community. But it went beyond simply giving us a place to work—they welcomed us with kindness, generosity, and trust.

When you travel hundreds of miles from home to serve people you’ve never met, having someone open their doors to you means more than they probably realize. St. Thomas gave us a home away from home while we were there, and we will never forget the hospitality they showed us. 🙏❤️

We saw destruction that pictures can’t fully capture, but we also saw kindness, gratitude, strength, faith, and a community taking care of one another.

The days were long, the drive was even longer 😂, and we are definitely tired—but I would do it all over again.

I’m incredibly thankful for everyone who helped make this deployment possible, everyone who worked beside us, St. Thomas Church for opening their doors, Colby for going the extra miles—literally 😂❤️—and especially the people of Menasha for welcoming us and trusting us to serve their community.

We may be headed home, but a little piece of my heart stays behind with every community we serve.

1,311 meals. 1,311 opportunities to remind someone that they weren’t forgotten.

Until the next call, we’re headed home. 🙏❤️
