This week’s Spotlight: BRUSH 323
B323 AKA: FIONA is a 2001 Stewart & Stevenson LMTV
Fiona is a Large Brush Truck that can handle just about any terrain in her path. B323 has a 750 gallon skid custom built by Westex Welding. Having a larger water capacity than most brush trucks, Fiona can maintain a fire line longer or carry water to smaller trucks in need. She’s equipped with 2 hose reels and various hand tools to get the job done. Another great tool Fiona has is Bluetooth headsets that make the communication between the driver and operator much easier. Fiona is a great asset to us and our surrounding communities when needed.

This weeks Sunday Spotlight: Bunker Gear

Bunker Gear (Turnout Gear) is the protective clothing firefighters wear when responding to fires and other emergency incidents. 🚒

It is designed to protect firefighters from heat, flames, sharp debris, and hazardous environments while still allowing them to move and work effectively.

Typical bunker gear includes:
• Helmet – Protects the head from impact, heat, and falling debris.
• Nomex Hood – Covers exposed areas of the head and neck from heat and embers.
• Turnout Coat – Provides thermal protection and shields the upper body from flames and heat.
• Turnout Pants (Bunker Pants) – Protect the legs and lower body from heat and debris.
• Gloves – Protect hands from heat, cuts, and abrasions while handling tools.
• Fire Boots – Protect the feet from heat, water, punctures, and heavy objects.

Most modern bunker gear is built with multiple protective layers that provide:
• Thermal protection from extreme heat
• Moisture protection from water and steam
• Durability against cuts, abrasions, and debris
