The Royal Reception is the perfect finale to our Historical Production and Court Presentation. It’s a time for family and friends to gather, share a toast, and personally congratulate each of our court members.

Our gracious hosts make this elegant affair possible. We are so grateful for your generosity, which provides a beautiful space to visit, take photos, and enjoy festive beverages and treats!

A number of our in-town court spent their Sunday afternoon in service to others at Waco's Family Abuse Center. After a tour, they helped clean up the facility's garden by pulling weeds. We are proud of these young people!

Our Thursday Night Dinners are a cherished tradition, officially kicking off the festivities and setting the perfect tone for the weekend ahead. There is nothing quite like the hospitality found within the walls of some of Waco’s most breathtaking homes.

A heartfelt thank you to our gracious home hosts. Your warmth and generosity in opening your doors to our out-of-town visitors and local guests make this event truly unforgettable. Because of you, our visitors and local guests start the weekend surrounded by warmth, beauty, and true Waco spirit.

Congratulations to the 2026 recipients of the Margaret Cannon Boyce Brown Festival on the Brazos Scholarship. University High School's Cassandra Saucedo and Waco High's August Zimmerman will receive $2,000 to help them with their college educations. Cassandra will attend Baylor University in the fall, while August will jet off to California to attend Chapman University. We know both have bright futures ahead.

Meet our 2026 General Chairman, Julie Campbell Carlson. The daughter of legendary sportswriter Dave Campbell and community leader Reba Campbell, Julie has been part of the Festival on the Brazos and Cotton Palace family for decades. She first took the stage as a Princess in the 1980 Royal Court, and since returning home to Waco in 1997, she has worked on or chaired various committees. She even joined the historical production cast on two occasions. Beyond Festival, you probably know her as the longtime writer of the Around Town column in Waco Today magazine (she is still sad the magazine stopped publication). She is married to Alan, a former Navy pilot. The couple has one daughter, Derby, a 2019 princess and Sewanee grad, and Luna, a loveable, slightly neurotic rescue dog.

Join us in celebrating our lovely Maid of Honor, Cynthia DuBois. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael James DuBois, Cynthia is as brilliant as she is beautiful. A standout student at Midway High School and an AP Scholar with Distinction, she is set to trade her tiara for some green and gold as she heads to Baylor University this fall.
