Update: We had another senior who completed all his courses that we were iffy about, so that makes 24 out of 29 of our seniors who graduated.

If you were here at The Cove, and around these kids, you’d understand just how big this is! Some of their stories are devastating, but the accomplishments they have just achieved by graduating high school are so much bigger to them than it is for you and I.

We cannot say this enough to our Waco community: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

THEY DID IT! 23 out of 28 of our seniors graduated from high school! That's an 82% graduation rate here at The Cove. The national average is 60% for youth experiencing homelessness.

We just wanted to say thank you to our Waco community for all the support in helping us make this happen!

We'd like to take a special moment to say thank you to our PR/Marketing intern, Saunsa Allee.

She has been the one telling you all the amazing stories that are going on at The Cove.

The positive energy she brings will be missed by all of us here at The Cove.

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting our graduation party at Main Event!

We got to celebrate them by giving them time to have fun at Main Event, but we also got to give them their gifts that so many of you helped purchase!

This is such a huge accomplishment for these young people and we’re honored that we got to celebrate with them!

Last week was the final week of programming for the school year, and we decided to end with a bang by going to the new STEAM center!

Our youth were able to tour the building, as well as try out some graphic design and go to the “Emersion Room” where they got to interact with designs on the walls.

Not only did this give our youth a chance to try new things, but this doubled as their “tier 3” prize for their good behavior throughout the semester. Huge thank you to the Waco STEAM center for hosting us and giving our youth an awesome end to the semester!
