This week, our team joined fellow community partners at the McLennan County Alzheimer’s Expo to connect with families, share resources, and support those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

We were especially proud to have our Medical Director, Dr. Wesley, participate in the panel discussion, helping answer questions and provide guidance for caregivers and loved ones navigating this journey.

Thank you to the organizers and everyone who attended. Events like these remind us of the importance of coming together as a community to ensure families have access to the support, education, and resources they need.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dame Cicely Saunders, the founder of the modern hospice movement.

Born on June 22, 1918, Dame Cicely Saunders transformed the way we care for those facing serious illness, recognizing that every person deserves comfort, dignity, and compassionate support at the end of life. Her vision continues to inspire hospice and palliative care providers around the world.

At Providence Hospice, we are proud to carry forward her legacy by serving patients and families with the same commitment to compassionate, person-centered care.

Today, we honor Juneteenth — a day of reflection, remembrance, and celebration of freedom.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring values of dignity, equality, and the ongoing pursuit of justice for all.
As we reflect on this significant day in our nation's history, we acknowledge the importance of remembering the past, celebrating the progress that has been made, and continuing to foster communities where every individual is valued, respected, and heard.

Our Online Drop-In Grief Support Group meets on the 4th Monday of each month from 12:00–1:00 pm, offering a safe and welcoming space to share, listen, and connect.

As we continue celebrating National Certified Nurse Aide Week, we're grateful for the compassionate caregivers who bring comfort, dignity, and kindness to our patients every day.

In this video, Tameshia shares what it means to care for patients like family, a sentiment that reflects the heart of so many of our CNAs. Whether they're helping with personal care, offering a reassuring presence, or simply taking time to listen, our CNAs make meaningful connections that bring comfort to patients and families during life's most important moments.
