Alright, parents and students… this Wednesday night, we’re going THERE! 😂🔥

Crushes. Dating. Relationships. Boundaries. Trust. Communication. Parental expectations. And everything in between!

Let’s be real… dating and relationships can get COMPLICATED!

Students have questions.
Parents have concerns.
And sometimes, everybody feels like nobody understands their perspective! 😅

But here’s the BIG question:

What does GOD have to say about all of this? 📖

As we continue our Faith That Glows at Home series, we’re creating space for some honest, real-life conversations about navigating dating and relationships in ways that honor God, respect our families, and help us make wise decisions.

We’re going to look at it from:
❤️ The STUDENT’S perspective.
🏠 The PARENT’S perspective.
✝️ And most importantly, GOD’S perspective!

No shame. No awkward lectures. Just real conversations, biblical wisdom, and practical guidance for navigating relationships God’s way.

PARENTS: Make sure your students are in the house for this one! And don’t be surprised if they come home with a few questions for YOU! 👀😂

STUDENTS: Bring your questions, your curiosity, and an open heart. This conversation is for YOU!

Learning. Growing. Remembering. ✨

There’s a lot happening in FMC Waco Youth right now.

During Midweek, we’ve been talking about what it means to have a Faith That Glows at Home—because following Jesus shouldn’t only show up at church. Our faith should impact how we love, communicate, forgive, serve, and live with the people closest to us.

Then on Sunday, Cody and Angela joined us during Missions Week and challenged our students with a powerful conversation about spiritual warfare and the battle for our minds.

📖 “…bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 10:5

Our students were challenged not to believe every thought that enters their minds, but to examine those thoughts through the truth of Scripture and learn to recognize what leads toward the life of Christ versus what seeks to steal, kill, and destroy.

And while all this growing is happening, Hannah and Mercy have been helping us remember the journey. 📸

They’ve been taking Polaroids during our time together and created a wall in the youth room documenting the laughs, friendships, worship, lessons, random moments, and memories we’re making along the way.

Because years from now, we want our students to be able to look back and remember:

God was growing us here.
God was building community here.
God was with us here.

🏠 FAITH THAT GLOWS… AT HOME.

This Wednesday, Youth Midweek is back!

This fall, we’re exploring what it looks like to follow Jesus in one of the most important—and sometimes most challenging—places in our lives: our families.

We’ll talk honestly about family relationships, different personalities under one roof, communication, conflict, forgiveness, faith practices, and how God can use our families to help shape who we are becoming.

This week we start with a simple truth:

God put me in a family.

📖 “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children…” — Deuteronomy 6:6–7

And because faith shouldn’t stay in the youth room, students will have a simple Take-It-Home Challenge each week designed to spark conversation and connection with parents, grandparents, guardians, and family members.

This week’s challenge: Ask someone in your family, “What was your family like when you were my age?” Then just listen. 👂🏾

Students, come ready to eat, laugh, learn, talk, and grow together.

✨ Faith That Glows isn’t just a Sunday thing. It should glow at home too.

We Show Up For Each Other
Weeks ago, Royce J. completed Confirmation alongside his friends. Today, when it was time for him to take the next step in his faith journey through baptism, his youth community was there to support him.
Our students gathered together in the Traditional Worship Service to witness and celebrate Royce publicly professing his faith in Jesus Christ and receiving baptism.
“Rejoice with those who rejoice.” — Romans 12:15
This is part of what Christian community looks like. We worship together. We grow together. We pray for each other. And when one of us takes a meaningful step with Jesus, we show up and celebrate together.
Congratulations, Royce! Your church family and your youth community are walking with you. 🙌🏾
