Dear McLennan Democrats,
Our McLennan County Democratic Convention is this coming Saturday, 21 March! We will be at the Waco Multipurpose Center Auditorium, 1020 Elm Avenue on the former Campus of Paul Quinn College in East Waco. Set up begins at 9:00am. Doors open at 10:00am.
County Parties all across Texas are holding their Conventions on that same day. Our convention all the conventions will mark the start of our effort to win this November. This is an opportunity for Democrats to gather, find each other and get organized. At our McLennan County Convention, we will select up to 79 Delegates to the Texas Democratic Convention which will be held 25 -27 June in Corpus Christie and consider resolutions that will determine our platform and the rules that govern our Party.
McLennan County registered voters who voted in the Democratic Primary, or those who did not vote in the Republican Primary or attend any other party's convention and sign the Texas Democratic Party Oath of affiliation and have not supported, financially or otherwise, any other party or candidates may serve as delegates to our convention. All Democrats are welcome to attend.
If you would like to be a delegate to the McLennan County Democratic Convention, we highly recommend that you RSVP with the Texas Democratic Party using the link below. Doing this takes a couple of steps out of the registration process that walk-in delegates will go through with our Credentials Committee on the day of the convention.

The Convention will feature apperances by our candidates local and statewide including Vikki Goodwin, Candidate for Lt. Governor and special messages from leaders of our party.
We will build enthusiasm and the determined spirit that we will need to change the political landscape of Texas and the nation for the better this year. I said this year! The waiting is over. Now is the time!
Let Your Voice be Heard!
We will also be submitting and adopting Resolutions that will help shape the Party Platform and rules. Submitting a rule or resolution to your county convention is one of the most direct ways grassroots Democrats shape the direction of the party.
Resolutions are how local Democrats formally say, “This is what we stand for,” and when adopted, they can move up to the state level and help shape the party platform.
Submitting a rule, meanwhile, is how you shape how the party operates. Rules govern how delegates are selected, how conventions run, and how transparent and inclusive our processes are.
Don’t know where to start? You can find previous resolutions here.
You can read the current State Party platform here and rules here.
To submit a resolution or rule, click the link below to complete the necessary google form. You can submit resolutions in person at the convention, but doing it ahead of time will save time and effort at the convention and give more opportunity for consideration.
