Last week, our Prosper Waco team was proud to participate in Project Homeless Connect, hosted by the Heart of Texas Homeless Coalition and presented by EOAC: Moving Families Forward! Team members helped with planning, implementation, and day-of support, working alongside incredible community partners to connect Waco neighbors experiencing homelessness with housing resources, healthcare, employment support, and more, all in one place.

Events like this are a powerful reminder of what's possible when organizations across our community come together with a shared goal. We're grateful for the opportunity to be part of this event and for everyone who came together to make it happen.

Project Homeless Connect presented by EOAC Waco: Changing Lives and hosted by Heart of Texas Homeless Coalition is this Friday, August 21, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., and it's going to be a great day for our community.

Neighbors experiencing homelessness will have access to a variety of services including health screenings, free haircuts, pet care, employment assistance, clothing and hygiene essentials, and much more!

Our team has spent these last three days in Austin at the Texas Statewide Impact Summit, an invite-only conference at the beautiful retreat facility of the Holdsworth Center Campus on Lake Austin, for Education Service Centers and backbone nonprofits, jointly hosted by the Texas Education Agency and the Texas Impact Network, focused on strengthening regional partnerships and alignment to improve student outcomes for Texas children.

With a compelling opening keynote from Commissioner Mike Morath, the conversations were focused on leveraging key strategies to drive student success and see Texas children thrive, no matter the zip code or school.

Can’t think of a better way for our newest hire, Dr. Lennex Cowan, to jump right in and hear from state leaders and learn from others doing this important work across the state! Great to have the time looking at data with our partners at ESC Region 12 and dreaming about how we might partner to accelerate student learning in Waco!

We’re energized and excited for the work ahead and to bring back new ideas, fresh vision, and growing momentum to support the great work happening in greater Waco public schools!
