Troop 308 Waco

Mr. Martin was very involved in the Waco community and in Troop 497. Just last week he was at their troop meeting encouraging the scouts to attend Swamp Base and planning out the scouting summer schedule. He made all the coffee mugs at Black Oak Pottery that you see at Magnolia and Common Grounds. Please keep our fellow troop and their scout families in your prayers.

Two Boy Scout troops assisted other passengers and provided first aid to those who were injured when a Chicago-bound Amtrak train derailed in Missouri.

We’re back from summer camp!
A handful of us got stung by red wasps, a few got dehydrated, and I think only one was eaten by an alligator, so I call that a success!

Scout accidentally sent a pickax straight through a copper water line.
All the water for the elephants, hippos, giraffes, and lions had to be turned off to fix it.

I mean it could happen to anyone.

Johnathan’s Eagle Scout Project is under construction!
We’re building a sensory path at Waco Montessori School. This is a pathway for Pre-K students to walk on that contains multiple types of textures to develop terrain sensory in walking.

Coming summer 2023!
Join us as we embark on the newest high adventure trip between Philmont and Northern Tier!

Today we are excited to announce in partnership with the longest ever high adventure trek for scouts. Northern Tier has a long history of offering base to base trips within our region, so we obviously saw it as the next progression in high adventure to expand the base to base program to other high adventure bases. This 1,700 mile trek will take scouts on the largest lake in the world, Lake Superior, and then down the mighty Mississippi before heading west across the plains to the Sangre de Cristo mountain range where long portages await. This trek will be open to scouts ages 14-21 and slots are now open for May 2022! We look forward to seeing you up north!
