I am reaching out to our prayer warriors to request support for one of our firefighters, Clayton Parum, who was involved in a rollover crash yesterday. He sustained a head laceration, a possible broken arm, and a broken ankle. He is scheduled for surgery at 8am this morning. I will provide updates as more information becomes available. We are planning to organize fundraisers to support Clayton's recovery and purchase another truck. If you have experience with setting up GoFundMe campaigns or similar fundraising platforms, please let me know.

Some progress pics on our new humvee we recently received on a grant from a federal surplus allotment. This came free of charge to us. It also came with a 30k grant for the water pump/ tank assembly that mounts in the bed. The only condition is we have to paint it with a non military paint job. We did that today and yesterday. I’ll keep yall posted when we get BRUSH 144 in operation.

Tomorrow and Sunday we have a captain, rescue captain and 2 firefighters taking the incident management ISO 400 class. This class with further their education to help manage larger events in our community professionally and quickly to achieve a better outcome. One more reason to join the department.

We’re still looking for volunteers. We will train you for free. Help out your community!! We still have a few spots open for firefighter 1. Free training, a brand new set of bunker gear, lots of online classes you can take for free also.

Your Downsville Firefighters were at it again this morning. We had 6 members of our department participate in a water rescue class. This morning your Firefighters learned how to safely rescue a victim in water, learned how to throw a safety device to a victim in still and moving water.
