Yesterday’s State of AI & Innovation Luncheon made it clear that AI is moving far beyond large language models. The starting point for AI shouldn’t be the technology; it should be the problem you’re trying to solve. During the event, we explored how companies are using AI to tackle real challenges and reshape the physical economy across advanced manufacturing, construction, healthcare and aerospace and defense. We also explored Texas’ growing role in financial innovation, including the significance of the New York Stock Exchange expanding into Texas. The pace of change is accelerating, and communities and businesses that are prepared to adapt will be best positioned to compete.

Next up, Holley Day has made a meaningful impact in conservation education and community engagement through leadership, collaboration, and innovation. As a member of AZA’s Green Scientific Advisory Group, she helps advance sustainability initiatives across the zoo community. In 2022, Holley partnered with Connally Junior High to host Brain Camp, creating enriching summer learning opportunities for students. As Chair of Cameron Park Zoo’s Conservation and Sustainability Committee, she leads efforts to strengthen environmental stewardship through innovative recycling and sustainability initiatives. Holley also launched Conservation Chats, connecting the community to Cameron Park Zoo’s conservation mission while inspiring greater awareness, engagement, and action to protect wildlife and support conservation efforts.

Next up, Raymond Lucien is a banking executive and community leader with nearly two decades of experience in commercial banking, treasury management, and business development. As Senior Vice President of Treasury Services at Fidelity Bank of Texas, he helps clients develop financial strategies and supports growth throughout Central Texas. Previously, Raymond led the expansion of First State Bank into the Waco market, growing the branch to more than $40 million in deposits and $20 million in loans within its first year.
