Message [email protected] or text 254-776-7303 or visit Animal Birth Control Clinic. Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) prevents community kittens from being born because TNR cats are fixed! TNR Cats are also better "citizens" because they get a 3-year rabies vaccination and a left "eartip" during surgery as an identifier to animal control, neighbors, and caretakers.

07/30/2025

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the *ONLY* way to stop community cats from reproducing and keep their other outdoor cat friends healthy.

The TNR process is simple:
1. Trap the cats, bring them to our clinic for spay or neuter and vaccines-this stops their out-of-control reproduction activities.
2. The vaccines prevent diseases that affect cats only and some that can affect humans.
3. TNR-Trapped Cat drop off is Monday-Thursday starting at 7:30 am with a pick up by 5:00 pm
4. Outdoor, community cats receive a left ear tip. This is a universal sign that a cat has been spayed or neutered and vaccinated against rabies.
5. The final step is to return them EXACTLY where trapped, back to their familiar home and family.

Fixing only females isn’t enough—unneutered males are just as responsible for endless litters and often suffer from fights, injuries, and disease. Spaying and neutering them all prevents countless kittens, reduces suffering, and reduces those undesirable behaviors we are not fond of-spraying, yowling, howling, and fighting.

Don't wait! When we see an outdoor cat without an eartip, we need to take swift action with TNR—every litter avoided makes a difference.

We would be excited to show you more information on trapping cats in your area.

Community Vigil
TONIGHT~
7pm - 8pm
Council Acres Park
1400 Bagby Avenue
Waco, Texas 76708

As animal lovers, we are gathering together with troubled hearts to honor and reflect on the feline lives that were taken on May 20th. Confronting the cruel truth of how some individuals treat animals is painful, but looking the other way or staying silent only strengthens those who cause harm.

So, we invite you to be present with others who care tirelessly for community cats to act with intention and kindness so creatures in need can have a better future free from harm. This gathering will feature brief guest speakers and neighbors united by a shared love for animals. Together, we stand together in pursuit of change for our cherished feline friends.

For any questions about this event please contact Skylar, Development and Communications Coordinator at [email protected]. If you would like to donate towards future TNR sponsorship for cats in need or a memorial paver to be placed at the ABC Clinic, visit https://www.animalbirthcontrol.org/donate. Make a note that your gift is in memory of the two sweet souls that were lost.

Fun Friday Facts:
The 1-2-3s of Feline Vaccines – What Every Cat Needs
Vaccines are essential to protect cats from dangerous and often deadly diseases—and the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Clinic offers affordable, and sometimes free, vaccination packages to keep your feline friends safe.

Core vaccines help protect against:
Feline Panleukopenia (Feline Distemper) – a highly contagious and often fatal virus that attacks the immune system and intestines, especially in kittens.
Feline Herpesvirus (FHV-1) – causes severe upper respiratory infections, eye ulcers, and lifelong flare-ups.
Calicivirus – another respiratory virus that can lead to mouth ulcers, pneumonia, and joint pain.
These three are usually combined in one shot called the FVRCP vaccine.

Rabies – required by law in most areas, rabies is fatal and can be transmitted to humans. Vaccinating your cat helps protect your family and the community.

Optional but important:
Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) – recommended for kittens and cats that go outdoors or live with other cats. FeLV weakens the immune system and increases cancer risk. While there's no cure, the vaccine offers crucial protection.

Timing matters: Kittens need a series of vaccines with boosters starting at 6–8 weeks of age and continuing through 16 weeks. Adult cats need regular boosters to stay protected.

Whether your cat is indoor-only or adventurous outside, ABC Clinic makes it easy and affordable to stay on top of vaccinations and protect your pet for life.

WHISKERS WEDNESDAY!
News from Animal Birth Control Clinic in Waco, Texas.

It's truly Spring Time and community cats are on the move.
Do you have a new yard or porch kitty?

Did you know that outside cats or what we call "community cats", can be either friendly or NOT friendly at all.
Many cats that live their entire lives outside are FRIENDLY.
They also already have a home.
Their home is outside.
They have a family system. Do not take them away from their family system.

Instead let's use TNR (Trap Neuter Return)!

Don't wait to get those cats fixed.
ABC has drop in appointments Monday thru Thursday for cats coming in traps. Drop off by 8am.
Cats that can be handled need to come in a carrier. They must have an appointment. Schedule that appointment heređź«´https://www.animalbirthcontrol.org/surgeryappointment

Have a new cat show up, wait about a week and if it hasn't headed back to it's home, make a plan to get it fixed♡

If you find kittens without a mom, WAIT!! Do not interfere with the kittens. Mom is most likely in the process of moving them. She carries one kitten at a time. Do not take those kittens away and leave mom behind.
Kittens best chance to survive is by staying with their mom.
If you need assistance with community cats please fill out the inquiry sheet here:https://www.animalbirthcontrol.org/requesttnrhelp

Kitten Season Is Here – What You Need to Know About Outdoor Cats

Outdoor cats—whether friendly or not—are called community cats.

If you feed them, fix them. Ask about ABC’s TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program.
https://www.animalbirthcontrol.org/commcat
The Waco Regional Shelter only accepts cats that are sick, injured, neonatal, or owner-surrendered (with fee).

This isn’t the shelter saying “no”—it’s saying there’s a better way to help cats thrive.

Rehome through local Facebook groups, classifieds, etc.

Leave the litter. Kittens are best left with their mom unless in danger. She moves them one at a time and will return.
